Amid the widening recognition, that the tourism sector whilst being highly vulnerable to climate change, is at the same a contributor to the emission of Greenhouse Gases (GHG); accelerating climate action within the tourism sector is therefore of utmost importance for the resilience of the sector and its niches.
Considering that globally the tourism sector contributes to around 8% of global GHG emissions as a result of: aviation (40%), ground transportation (30%) and the consumption of goods and services (30%) including food and accommodation, combined with the fact that locally tourism contributes to a staggering 8% of the Malta’s GDP, climate action won’t be an easy thing.
We, at Petite Events, are doing everything within our remit to first and foremost measure the GHG emissions and subsequently reduce, through collaborative actions with our suppliers, the climate impacts of the MICE industry.
Therefore we kindly ask you for some minutes of your time to fill in this questionnaire, in order for us to have a more sustainable approach.
